We are currently in the process of converting from Jira 5.2 to Jira 6.x. This book would be a big help in teaching my support staff.
Very interested in using and installer to upgrade JIRA!!
I’m interested in the custom forms, custom workflows, and how to automate administrative tasks.
Great book!
What interests you the most about this book:
(1) It is more or less basics: The design and implementation of custom forms to capture information with custom fields, screens, and validation rules. Any hidden tips and tricks?
(2) Gets often too complex: The creation of custom workflows with complex validation logic and business rules. How to do it plain and simple?
(3) More and more instances go public: Thus, securing your JIRA data from unauthorized access becomes more and more important. Things you should not miss here?
(4) There are some solutions here: Set up single sign-on for JIRA on a Windows domain. Still an interesting field as this should be default. Experiences?
(5) Something nobody wants to do has to be done: Automate administrative tasks with scripts and command-line interfaces. How to make admins happy and safe some of their time?
I’m interested in many things about “JIRA 6.x Administration Cookbook”, such as topics for new JIRA administrators, general maintenance tips, special things to know about JIRA OnDemand vs on site.
But the topic I’m most interested in is project management: how best to manage many small projects with short-ish lifespans; ways to “close” completed projects; recipes for tracking and presenting status at a project level.
Nice.
Definitely interested in methods to better adapt Jira to our needs across departments!
Congrats to Scott Wood, Jeannne Howe, Ian Santarinala for being the first 3 to respond. We will contact them via email for details.
After years using Basecamp, asana, trello, chili, github, and so more, the company i now work for is using Jira so I’m gonna need to know how to work with it.
Plus I created a product of my own that I’d like to incorporate with Jira. (I won’t put the link here unless you tell me I can).
If Jira is as amazing as other Atlassian’s products like HipChat and Bitbucket, I’m looking forward to use it !
